Who We Are

Portland Spurs is an Official Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Club. We are a passionate group, made up of all walks of life, who share one very key common trait - we love Spurs! Being a Spurs supporter far away from London can make it difficult to attend matches and share camaraderie with fellow fans. With Portland Spurs, you have the opportunity to enjoy the highs (and inevitably suffer thru the lows) amongst family.

What We Do

We follow Spurs religiously. We watch nearly every match together (yes, even those at 4:30am), and throw the occasional non-viewing party and get-together. We have an active fantasy league with optional participation, and are excited about growing our footprint deeper into the greater Portland community through service and non-profit partnerships. We have arranged group trips to London, and can secure direct ticket access should you want to arrange a trip to London yourself. As an Official Supporters Group within Tottenham’s global network, you can become part of a global and regional Spurs family.

How to Join

It is free to come to watch parties and generally fraternize within Portland Spurs. We welcome ALL races, religions, countries of origins, sexual orientations, and genders. Any Spurs supporter is able to be a “General Member” at no cost and for as often as you’d like. However, we do offer the opportunity to become an “Official Member” of Portland Spurs, and joining is as easy as getting in touch with one of our Board Members.

What is an Official Member

Cost is $15 annually and runs July 1st thru June 30th. As an Official Member, your financial commitment will help Portland Spurs budget, plan, and execute future events, non-profit and community partnerships, and create merchandise. All Official Members receive:

  • Annual membership-only token of appreciation

  • Discount and pre-order on all Portland Spurs general merchandise

  • Voting Rights for (and the right to participate on) the Portland Spurs Board as well as a voice on merchandise, community support, and other Supporters Club decisions

A Bit of History

Portland Spurs were founded in 2012 by Jason Urick and Andy Palmquist. Both long term Spurs supporters living in Portland but watching Spurs alone, they came together with the idea of an informal gathering to watch, cheer, and suffer together. During that first year, a core group of five or so (mostly thru Portland Timbers connections) would try to catch as many matches as possible together. It began to expand over the next few years after another lifelong fan, Jonathan Berube, opened a restaurant and allowed early morning access while the cooks prepped for the day. Things expanded rapidly as Spurs continued to gain momentum and Portland continued to grow as a destination city. By 2017, Portland Spurs had over 400 people joined via Facebook, averaged over 25 at each viewing party, and easily drew 50+ for the North London Derby. Looking ahead, Portland Spurs leadership is excited to continue to formalize a structured group that can leverage the growing fanbase into strong fellowship and community impact.
